Men’s Ministry

Men’s Ministry

Welcome

The Men’s Ministry at St. John Paul 2 Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, Cumming is all about building connections, fostering support, and encouraging active participation among men in the life of our parish. We create opportunities for men to get involved, meet new people, and contribute to our community through service, events, and shared experiences. It’s about creating a space where men can grow together, support one another, and make a real impact.

Mission & Vision

We aim to have every man in our parish actively engaged in church activities, living out his role as a member of the Body of Christ. Whether through leadership, fellowship, or service, we want to see men supporting each other and the community, making the church a stronger, more vibrant place.

Our Focus & Core Values

We focus on creating a welcoming environment where everyone can use their strengths to serve others and grow spiritually, while having a good time together.

We aim to have every man in our parish actively engaged in church activities, living out his role as a member of the Body of Christ. Whether through leadership, fellowship, or service, we want to see men supporting each other and the community, making the church a stronger, more vibrant place.

We are guided by a few key principles:

  • Encouragement: Supporting one another in faith, personal growth, and life.
  • Building Each Other Up: Fostering an environment where men help each other grow spiritually, emotionally, and in service.
  • Serving & Sharing: Giving time, energy, and talents to serve the church and one another.

By living out these values, we strengthen the church and each other, creating a more engaged and supportive community.

Leadership Team

Currently, the Men’s Ministry is led by Binish Antony and Ashley Thomas and as the ministry grows, we plan to expand the leadership team to ensure we’re meeting the needs of all the men in our parish.

Where we stand Now

Though we’re in the early stages, we’ve already made an impact with a few key events:

  • 2024 Parish Picnic: The Men’s Ministry took the lead in organizing the parish picnic, a day full of fun, fellowship, and parish bonding.
  • Rosaries & Novenas: We’re actively involved in leading rosaries and novenas, working alongside the Marian Ministry to enrich our community’s prayer life.

As we move forward, we plan to build on this foundation with more events, activities, and ways to serve.

Looking Ahead

The Men’s Ministry is just getting started, and we have exciting plans for growth:

  • Building a Structure: We’re in the process of formalizing the leadership and organization of the ministry to ensure long-term success.
  • Regular Events: We aim to host more consistent gatherings, both spiritual and social, to keep the men in our parish engaged and connected.
  • Future Vision: We’re working on a plan to increase involvement, strengthen leadership, and further integrate the Men’s Ministry into parish life.

As a newer ministry, we’ve encountered a few challenges:

  • Balancing Commitments: Many of our active members are involved in other ministries, making it challenging to maintain consistent participation.

To overcome this, we’re focused on:

  • Creating Structure: Developing a leadership framework and clear responsibilities to help manage our activities.
  • Staying Engaged: Establishing regular meetings and events to keep momentum going and encourage consistent involvement.

How to Get Involved

If you’re interested in joining the Men’s Ministry, here’s how to get started:

  • Come talk to one of us: We will invite you over to our Men’s Ministry WhatsApp group for updates, events, and discussions.
  • Commitment: We’re looking for men who are ready to show up, contribute, and serve. There’s no minimum commitment—just a willingness to be involved when you can.
  • Skills or Interests: We don’t require any specific skills to join—just a passion to get involved and support the church community.

Your involvement can make a big difference in how we serve the parish and grow as a ministry.
