At St. John Paul 2 SMCC Choir, we are more than just a group of singers – we are a family united in faith, bound by the joy of music, and committed to glorifying God through song. Our ministry aims to enhance worship, uplift hearts, and foster a deeper connection to God through music.

Whether you attend the Malayalam or English Mass, our choir team strives to make each worship experience meaningful and impactful, bringing together voices that lead and enrich our worship in unique ways:

Malayalam Choir Ministry: Leads the Malayalam Holy Qurbana, guiding the congregation in prayer and song with traditional hymns that create a reverent atmosphere for worship.
English Choir Ministry: A passionate youth team that leads the monthly English Holy Mass, offering a vibrant and contemporary sound to inspire praise and reflection.

Together, these voices come together to deepen our spiritual connection and foster a sense of community, to elevate our worship with music that honors God’s glory.

Our Mission, Vision, and Goals

At the heart of our choir ministry is the mission to honor and glorify God through the powerful gift of music. We are committed to leading the congregation in worship, helping them connect more deeply with their faith. Our short-term vision is to cultivate a choir community that is united in song, prayer, and spirit, while our long-term vision focuses on strengthening these bonds and using our music as a tool for outreach and spiritual growth.

Our Team

The heart of our ministry is the dedicated group of leaders and members who give their time and talents to serve God through music. Our leadership team includes:

Choir Coordinators: Guides our rehearsals, chooses the music, and ensures that every service is musically and spiritually meaningful.
Choir Lead: Help with vocal coaching and provide guidance on harmonies and singing techniques.
Choir Members: The backbone of our ministry—each person is committed to singing, worshiping, and contributing to the choir’s mission.

Every member plays a vital role in bringing our ministry to life and creating an atmosphere of joy and reverence during worship.

A Day in the Life of Our Ministry

Being part of the choir ministry is a rewarding experience that combines commitment with creativity.

Weekly Rehearsals: We meet regularly to rehearse new songs, polish our performance for upcoming services, and prepare for special events. Our rehearsals are more than just practice—they are a time for fellowship, prayer, and growth.
Sunday Services: Whether it’s the Malayalam Holy Qurbana or the English Mass, our choir leads the congregation in song each week, creating an atmosphere of reverence and praise, blending traditional hymns with contemporary worship songs.
Special Events: We come together for performances during key liturgical events, such as Christmas, Holy Week, and other significant feasts, making these moments even more memorable for the congregation.
